Fans were looking forward to the release of Salman Khan's action film, Sikandar. However, once it premiered, the film faced unfavorable reactions from viewers. Although some fans were pleased to see him return to the big screen, other audience members criticized the film for lacking a coherent storyline and labeled it a failure.

Moviegoers slam Salman Khan's film

An individual expressed his opinions on Instagram regarding the film Sikandar, labeling it as a "waste of money." He went on to critique the film's visuals, describing them as "poor quality." Another viewer remarked that the film is only worth watching once, stating, "There is no storyline. It merely depicts Salman walking in slow motion and uses AI to enhance his appearance. It didn't feel like I was watching the same Salman from Dabangg."

One viewer conveyed their dissatisfaction with AR Murugadoss, stating, "While the film contains action and a social message, it feels outdated after a certain period."

Another audience member remarked, "I couldn't grasp Salman Khan's role." Additionally, another individual commented, "The film is destined to fail. Despite it being Eid, the theater remained nearly empty. It's a failure."

Public criticises Salman Khan's acting

Critics also expressed their discontent with Salman's performance in the film, with one remarking, "This was the worst movie of my life. Salman's acting was utterly dreadful."

One viewer expressed that the film was unremarkable, noting that the theaters were nearly vacant. A moviegoer conveyed his dissatisfaction, stating, "I didn’t enjoy it. It felt like someone else was portraying Salman Khan’s character. He looked more like a bodybuilder, honestly. It wasn’t good." He went on to give the film a rating of zero. Another individual remarked, "I want a refund."

About Sikandar

The film, which premiered on March 30, experienced a lackluster debut, particularly for a Salman Khan production. It garnered only ₹26 crore on its opening day, despite being released on a holiday, and fell short of Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava, which achieved ₹31 crore on its first day at the box office.

Directed by AR Murugadoss and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, Sikandar features prominent actors such as Rashmika Mandanna, Kajal Aggarwal, Prateik Babbar, Sharman Joshi, and Sathyaraj in significant roles. While the action sequences received acclaim, the film faced criticism for its underdeveloped plot and emotional depth.

At the trailer launch event, Salman expressed confidence in Sikandar's success, stating, “Eid, Diwali, New Year, festive, non-festive, it’s the love of the people, and picture acchi ho ya buri ho, woh sau (₹100 crore) toh paar kara hi dete hain” (Regardless of the film's quality, it will earn at least ₹100 crore). He later amended his statement, asserting that this film would surpass the ₹200 crore threshold, remarking, “₹100 crore bohot pehle ki baat hai” (₹100 crore is a thing of the past).
