Lim Ji Yeon and Choo Young Woo's drama, The Tale of Lady Ok, successfully surpassed Lee Joon Hyuk and Han Ji Min's K-drama, Love Scout, during its final week of airing. In the fourth week of January, this historical series from JTBC reclaimed its position at the top of the Good Data Corporation’s FUNdex chart, emerging as the most talked-about drama. Furthermore, the lead actors excelled in the weekly rankings, with Lim Ji Yeon securing the top spot and Choo Young Woo following closely in second place.

Lee Joon Hyuk still a favourite on the monthly actor brand rankings

Lee Joon Hyuk from Love Scout may have fallen to third place in the K-Content Online Buzzworthiness rankings for drama stars. Nevertheless, he outperformed the rising star from The Tale of Lady Ok in the monthly Actor Brand Reputation rankings from December 27 to January 27.

Despite the reversal of their standings on the buzzworthy chart, Lee maintained his position at the top of the Korean Business Research Institute’s January Actor rankings, achieving a reputation index of 10,689,968. Choo Young Woo followed closely behind with a score of 10,262,219. Even stars from Squid Game Season 2, Lee Jung Jae and Jo Yu Ri, while included in the Top 5, could not surpass the Love Scout actor in the Actor Brand rankings. His co-star from the SBS romance drama, Han Ji Min, secured the eighth position.

The onscreen duo Yoo Yeon Seok and Chae Soo Bin, who gained significant popularity for their chemistry in the melodrama When the Phone Rings, ranked at #11 and #12, respectively.

Netflix's The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call soars

The narrative surrounding Lady Ok standout Choo Young Woo has garnered significant attention, as he achieved a notable double feature in the rankings of prominent actors. This recognition stems from his captivating performances in the JTBC drama and the newly released Netflix series, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. He secured the second position for the former and attained the eighth rank for the latter on the same chart.

Additionally, his emerging onscreen camaraderie with co-star Ju Ji Hoon from The Trauma Code has sparked considerable interest within the Hallyu community. The lead actor has been particularly active, participating in a series of consecutive dramas. He commenced with the Disney+ series Blood Free in 2024, followed by his role in Love Your Enemy, another Disney+ production titled Light Shop, and he is set to start the new year with The Trauma Code on Netflix. For this latest project, he achieved a rank of seventh this week.

Furthermore, The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call has claimed the third position on the K-Content Online chart for the most buzzworthy TV-OTT dramas, surpassing even Squid Game Season 2, which ranked fourth.

Korean shows trending on Netflix's Top 10

In contrast, the dynamic between Lee Jung Jae and Lee Byung Hun surpassed the emerging chemistry of Ju Ji Hoon and Choo Young Woo, as the latest season of Squid Game outperformed The Trauma Code, securing the top position on Netflix's Top 10 non-English shows chart.

During the week of January 20-26, Squid Game 2 extended its five-week presence in the streaming platform's rankings, accumulating 7.9 million views. In comparison, The Trauma Code, which premiered on January 24, made its debut on the Top 10 chart this week, achieving 4.7 million views and landing at #3.

Additionally, the first season of Squid Game (#6) made a return for its 28th non-consecutive week on the Top 10, amassing 3.1 million views.

Finally, the Korean reality television series Single's Inferno Season 4 continued its two-week run on the chart, attracting 3.1 million views and securing the #5 position. Contestants Lee Sian and Park Hae Lin ranked #3 and #10, respectively, on the non-drama performers' rankings of the FUNdex Buzzworthiness chart.
