Following the tremendous success of Gadar 2, Sunny Deol is preparing for the launch of Jaat and has another project, Lahore 1947, in development. This film is a collaboration with director Rajkumar Santoshi and is being produced by Aamir Khan. Enthusiasm among fans is high for this movie, which was initially scheduled for release during the Republic Day weekend in 2025 but has since been delayed. In a recent interview, Sunny discussed the reasons behind the extended post-production period, which is linked to Aamir.

During a recent fan interaction at Pinkvilla Masterclass, Sunny Deol was asked to share an update on Lahore 1947 while he is gearing up for the release of Jaat. The actor mentioned that their shooting is done, and the film is currently being edited, which is taking time because Aamir Khan is aiming for perfection. 

Sunny shared, "That film is definitely coming. I started that before and its shooting has also wrapped. I started Jaat after that. But that is taking slightly more time because Aamir Khan is the producer and he's aiming for perfection in editing."

Sunny Deol on collaborating with Rajkumar Santoshi almost after 30 years

Deol After nearly three decades since their last collaboration on the 1996 film Ghatak, the renowned filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi has reunited with the actor for a new project. Together, they have previously worked on three films: Ghayal, Ghatak, and Damini.

Reflecting on this long-awaited partnership, the Gadar actor noted that fans are eager to see them collaborate again due to the popularity of their earlier works, which he believes were well-received by audiences.

"It took us a considerable amount of time to come back together. In fact, we have been developing Lahore 1947 for many years. Numerous actors were interested in the story, and several were even slated to participate, but it never materialized. However, Gadar 2 has made this reunion possible," he stated.

According According to recent reports, the filming of Lahore 1947 has concluded after 70 days of rigorous work, with the entire schedule being completed without any interruptions. 

Directed by Rajkumar Santoshi and produced by Aamir Khan, Lahore 1947 narrates the tale of a Muslim family relocating from Lucknow to Lahore during the tumultuous partition of 1947. Throughout their journey, they encounter an elderly Hindu woman residing in their newly assigned haveli, delving into themes of communal harmony and shared human values.

In addition to Sunny Deol, the cast of Lahore 1947 includes Preity Zinta, Shabana Azmi, Ali Fazal, Karan Deol, among others.
