Laapataa Ladies, directed by Kiran Rao and backed by Aamir Khan has been receiving positive reviews from critics, audiences as well as celebrities. The film is currently streaming on Netflix and not only that but has been trending on No. 1 now. Kareena Kapoor took to her Instagram stories and shared a post by makers which reveals that Laapataa Ladies has been trending on the platform. She shared the post that has a poster of the comedy-drama and wrote: "what a gem...take a bow"."

Sunny Deol, Hansal Mehta & Varun Dhawan's review of Laapataa Ladies

Earlier, many other celebrities also reviewed the film on their social media accounts. After watching the film, Sunny Deol wrote: “Just finished watching Laapataa Ladies, haven't seen such a heartwarming and innocent film in long. All my best to Kiran Rao and team, will recommend all to watch this gem.” 

Varun Dhawan, on the other hand, reviewed the film by writing, "JUST LOVED LAAPATAA LADIES @raodyness.” He further commended the cast of the film, saying, “So well performed by each and every cast member loved everything about it @aafilms.official."

Filmmaker Hansal Mehta also took to his Twitter account and heaped praises for the film. He wrote: “Saw the very big hearted and moving Laapata Ladies. Sometimes all that is needed is simplicity and clarity. This film is that. I went in expecting more and finished with more than it apparently delivers. It is old fashioned in a good way and modern in a very invisible manner. It is deceptively simple in its treatment and humour.”

What is the plot of Laapataa Ladies?

The narrative of Laapataa Ladies revolves around Deepak, played wonderfully by Sparsh Shrivastava. He gets married to Phool, played by Nitanshi Goel, and the two board a train for their village. However, Phool gets exchanged in the crowded train and he only gets to know about it once they reach the station late at night. The story comes full of surprises with a compelling narrative and outstanding performances. 

The film also stars Pratibha Ranta, Chhaya Kadam, and Ravi Kishan in pivotal roles. The film, directed by Kiran Rao is produced by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande and is currently streaming on Netflix.
