Mohanlal on Prithviraj’s ‘real Pan-Indian film' L2 Empuraan

Recently, numerous films have been marketed as Pan-Indian productions. However, Malayalam film icon Mohanlal has referred to "L2 Empuraan," directed by Prithviraj, as the true Pan-Indian film, highlighting the film's grand scale and the extensive effort involved in its creation.

"This is the authentic Pan-Indian film. We attempted to create a Pan-Indian film some time ago with 'Saaza-E-Kaalapani' (the Hindi adaptation of 'Kaalapani'). It has always been our aspiration to produce a film of this nature," Mohanlal stated at the official trailer launch event for "L2 Empuraan" in Mumbai.

Expressing gratitude to Prithviraj for realizing this long-held dream, Mohanlal remarked, "It feels like magic."

At the event, Prithviraj remarked that L2 Empuraan represents an extraordinary endeavor, stating that “the scale and canvas is the deep end of the waters for our industry.” This film is the second instalment in the trilogy, following the success of Lucifer, which became a major hit in 2019. Lucifer is celebrated as one of the finest political action thrillers in recent years and can be streamed on SonyLiv and OTTplay Premium.

L2 Empuraan release and advance bookings

L2 Empuraan is poised for a spectacular theatrical release globally on March 27. Advance ticket sales for the film will commence at 9 AM on March 21, 2025. In addition to its Malayalam version, L2 Empuraan will also be available in Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Telugu.

The release of the L2 Empuraan trailer has heightened excitement surrounding this Mohanlal-led project. The nearly four-minute clip offers a glimpse into the ominous realm governed by Khureshi Ab'raam, also known as Stephen Nedumpally. Prithviraj will play a significant role as Zayed Masood, joined by a talented ensemble cast that includes Tovino Thomas, Indrajith Sukumaran, Manju Warrier, Abhimanyu Singh, and Suraj Venjaramoodu. Additionally, Jerome Flynn and Eriq Ebouaney are featured among the impressive cast.
