It was a memorable Tuesday for the Kemmu-Khan family as they celebrated Mahashivratri and Herath Poshte with a special puja at home. Their daughter, Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, was part of the festivities too. Soha posted a video on Instagram capturing the family praying together.

A family that prays together stays together

A priest performed the aarti for Lord Shiva and applied tikas on everyone. Inaaya joined in on the rituals too, doing aarti alongside her mom, Soha, as the whole family gathered. Soha shared the moment with the caption, “Herath Mubarak! #happymahashivratri love peace and prayer.” This is a special day the family celebrates every year.

Herath is a festival from Kashmir that takes place on the 13th day of the waning phase of Phalguna, which falls between February and March. It’s a big deal for the Kashmiri Pandits, who keep the tradition alive even after moving away due to the rise of militancy in the region. This festival is also referred to as the night of Hara or Shiva, with Mahashivratri landing on February 26.

Kunal and his family belong to the Kashmiri Pandit community, while Soha is the daughter of Mansoor Ali Khan Pataudi and Sharmila Tagore. She tied the knot with Kunal on January 25, 2015, and they just celebrated ten years of marriage. The couple welcomed their first child, a daughter named Inaaya Naumi Kemmu, on September 29, 2017.

What's on the horizon for Kunal?

Kunal has made quite a name for himself in the film industry with roles in movies like Raja Hindustani, Kalyug, Traffic Signal, Golmaal 3, Blood Money, Golmaal Again, and Lootcase. His latest project was directing Madgaon Express.

In a chat with ANI, he mentioned that he’s gearing up to direct a new film, with shooting set to kick off by the end of 2025.

He also reminisced about his time working with Saif Ali Khan in 'Go Goa Gone' and expressed his eagerness to direct a sequel if the opportunity arises.

"I had a brief but fun experience working with Saif in Go Goa Gone. It would be amazing to collaborate with him and Sharmila Tagore again. They’re not just family; they’re incredible actors whose work I admire. If they want me to direct a sequel to Go Goa Gone, I’d jump at the chance," Kunal shared.
