Kunaal Roy Kapur, a talented actor celebrated for his diverse performances, reflects on his career and the fortunate opportunities he has encountered through memorable roles. In a recent interview, he expressed his gratitude for these chances and discussed his approach to comedic characters.

Regarding his past roles, he remarked, "I consider myself fortunate to have portrayed some remarkable characters throughout my career. If an actor can leave a lasting impression with four or five roles, that is a significant achievement. Every actor should aspire to have these standout characters that resonate with audiences. Looking back at my career, I can confidently say that I have been fortunate to embody three or four such roles. However, the credit should primarily go to the directors and writers who craft these characters; I am merely the fortunate recipient of their creativity. I am grateful to have participated in such projects, and it is heartening to know that people continue to remember them."

Kunaal reminisces about his performance in the film Action Jackson, which, despite its lackluster box office performance, has gained popularity on television and streaming platforms. "Many individuals recognize me from Action Jackson. Although the film did not succeed in theatres, it received considerable affection on TV. It is gratifying to know that my work is still appreciated, and it feels as though I have fulfilled my purpose."

As an actor frequently cast in comedic roles, Kunaal emphasizes the importance of variety in his performances. "I am predominantly offered comic roles, and I strive to ensure that each character I portray is distinct from the previous one. Repeating the same type of role can lead to monotony. What is crucial for me is the uniqueness of the character's arc. I consider how the character evolves, their journey, and the significance of their role within the narrative. Naturally, the director and producer also play a vital role in influencing this aspect."

Kunaal discusses the difficulties associated with performing comedy, stating, "The challenge does not lie in whether it is easy or difficult; rather, it is a skill that involves responding to your fellow performers. My background is in theatre, which has taught me to gauge the audience's reactions. In a theatrical setting, one can truly feel the energy and laughter emanating from the audience. When I transition to film, I envision the moments when the audience is likely to laugh, the appropriate duration for pauses, and their potential reactions. Mastering the timing and comprehending the rhythm of the scene is essential."

Kunaal was recently featured in the second season of Bandish Bandits, where he garnered significant affection and acclaim from viewers.
