Kanye West expressed a strong desire to connect with Kodak Black after viewing a recent video that he found to be a significant gesture, inspiring him to consider mentoring the younger artist.

In a post on social media, West announced his intention to travel to Atlanta to assist Black. The video, which has attracted considerable attention online, features Kodak Black sitting in the middle of a street, eating chicken from a takeout container while adorned with a chain from Ye's “DONDA” label. This imagery resonated deeply with West, who perceived it as an invitation to reach out and potentially guide blacks.

Originally shared on X by the user @scubaryan_ on February 9, the clip gained significant traction, amassing over 5 million views.

In response to the video on X, West stated, “I’M COMING TO MIAMI RIGHT NOW IM GOING TO GO GET MY BROTHER NOW LETS PRAY FOR HIM.” He later posted a video expressing his concerns, highlighting that Black was wearing a “DONDA” chain in the footage, referencing West's album named after his mother.

West urges people in Atlanta to step in and help Black

Initially, West informed his followers that he was travelling to Miami; however, he later provided an update indicating that Black was in Atlanta. Subsequently, he shared a new video with the message, “So I’m going to fly down to Atlanta right now and do something.” Emphasizing his desire to transform Black's life, West urged residents of Atlanta who were familiar with him to extend their support.

In response to Black's troubling video, one user on X commented: “Yall he’s not okay. This s88t is just sad. Sticking cameras in his face and belittling him like he’s genuinely tweakin out of his mind and needs help.”

“This is so sad bro, drugs are taking him… He needs people around him who care,” another chimed in.

The two artists share a longstanding mutual respect. In a 2023 interview on the “Drink Champs” podcast, Black expressed his admiration for West, stating, “Kanye, I felt like I can be his mentor or something. It would be very fruitful for his life. Kanye, when you see [this], holler at me.”

West and Black have previously worked together on several tracks, including "Drunk" featuring Peso Pluma and "Field Trip" from the album "Vultures 2," which includes contributions from Don Toliver and Playboi Carti.
