Recently, she shined in Alex Garland's Civil War, winning over fans with her performance. Still, a report from In Touch suggests that her role isn’t generating much Oscar buzz this time around.

Civil War received a warm welcome from audiences and turned out to be a box office success. A close friend of Kirsten’s shared with the site, "This film is really special for her because she tackled a pretty intense role that pushed her out of her comfort zone. She’s also really proud of Jesse [Plemons] and his work in the film."

The source also pointed out that even though the film is doing well, A24 has pulled back on its Oscar campaign. They noted that while rave reviews are crucial for an Oscar run, the film's box office success sparked some buzz about Kirsten possibly being in the running. However, with other films like The Brutalist featuring Adrien Brody seeming to have a better shot at winning awards, the studio has cut back significantly on their Oscar spending for Civil War.

Additionally, the source emphasized that this isn’t Kirsten’s fault, saying, "She’s been in the industry since she was a kid, and after all the hard work she’s put in, this kind of bad luck really stings. She’s still pushing to promote the movie, but she doesn’t have the support she expected. Not even close!"
