Kiran Abbavaram achieved significant success with KA, which has consistently topped the ETV Win charts for several months. The actor, known for his role in The Raja Vaaru Rani Gaaru, is now preparing for his upcoming film, Dilruba, scheduled for release on March 14, 2025. In this exclusive interview, Kiran discusses the romantic drama, his future aspirations, managing three films annually, and his most esteemed project to date. Below is the complete transcript.

Is there an expectation to achieve greater success with Dilruba than with KA?

Indeed, there is. Every actor aspires to exceed the success of their previous work, and I share that ambition. We recently screened Dilruba and were delighted with the final result. My producers, director, and I are optimistic that this film will mark another milestone in my career.

At first glance, Dilruba appears to be a conventional commercial drama. What distinguishes it?

Although the trailer and plot may seem typical, the film's unique presentation is what differentiates it. Following KA, I will be seen in a completely different light. Viewers can expect to see me engage in dance, action, and deliver impactful dialogues. Moreover, Dilruba conveys a significant message beyond mere entertainment.

Could you elaborate on your character in Dilruba?

I portray a college student with a history involving his ex-girlfriend, who returns to the college as a teacher while I develop feelings for another person. My character is someone who refuses to apologize for mistakes he has not made. The essence of the story revolves around how this impulsive individual confronts adversaries, creating a captivating narrative.

How was it working with Rukshar Dhillon?

Rukshar is an exceptional actress who plays a pivotal role in Dilruba. Her extensive experience surpasses mine, and I believe our on-screen chemistry will be one of the film's standout features. Rukshar possesses a clear vision of her character and contributes significant depth to the narrative.

Tell us about your director, Viswa Karun.

From the outset, Viswa has maintained a distinct vision for the script. He recognizes that Dilruba is a straightforward commercial film with a familiar premise; however, his approach to developing the conflict and crafting the storyline elevates it. His direction skillfully balances elements of comedy, emotion, and heroism without excess.

You gained significant success with KA. How are you managing your career?

The experience with KA highlighted the audience's expectation for actors like myself to select projects with substantial content. I have taken this insight to heart and aim to release three films annually. My objective is to delve into various genres and establish myself as a versatile actor. I have a well-defined career plan that I am diligently following.

What’s next for you?

I am set to commence filming for my upcoming project, K Ramp. Once that is completed, I have two additional films scheduled for release in 2026. Furthermore, I am currently in the pre-production phase of an ambitious three-part project, which I plan to begin working on by the end of 2026.
