The heinous rape and murder of a young doctor at the RG Kar Hospital has opened the Pandora’s box of corruption and threat culture in Bengal. The junior doctors protested against these and came to the street. Actor-doctor Kinjal Nanda, whose Kaantaye Kaantaye is currently streaming on Zee5, has been one of the key leaders of the movement.

The junior doctor demanded justice for their colleague and raised their voices against the syndicate raj and threat culture. They had rounds of meetings with the chief minister in Kalighat and Nabanna. Now, the movement has been partially paused due to the flood situation in the state. Some of the doctors went to the hospitals to serve the patients and some of them went to the flooded areas with relief.

Many people say that Kinjal, along with Debasish Halder, Aniket Mahato, and some other protesting doctors are the new heroes. Kinjal is also an actor. He posted on Tuesday night on Facebook.

Kinjal told everyone, “This movement belongs to everyone. Hence, please don’t stop its spirit by highlighting an individual. Every person is the face of this movement.’

Netizens also echoed Kinjal’s opinion. One of them wrote ‘There is no we, you, they, or them in this movement. This protest is for all of us. All of us want justice for Tilottama's murder and purification of the society. We demand Justice for Tilottama’.

Besides, some goons vandalized the crime spot in front of the police on the night of August 14. The ex-principal Sandip Ghosh then ordered to removal of the evidence of crime by rebuilding the spot.
