Actor and co-owner of Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), Shah Rukh Khan, arrived in Kolkata on Friday in anticipation of the opening ceremony for IPL (Indian Premier League) 2025. The actor was seen surrounded by security as he entered the city, taking a moment to greet the fans who had gathered to see him before continuing on his way.

Shah Rukh Khan arrives in Kolkata for IPL 2025

In a video shared by a paparazzo, Shah Rukh is seen surrounded by several police officers upon his arrival in Kolkata. The actor, wearing casual jeans, a white t-shirt, and a vest, has cut his signature ponytail and dyed his hair. He acknowledged the fans who had gathered outside the airport by waving and blowing kisses before entering his vehicle. He took a moment to interact with his supporters before getting inside.

Kolkata Knight Riders clinched their third championship with a decisive win against SunRisers Hyderabad in the IPL 2024 final held in Chennai. Shah Rukh Khan attended numerous KKR matches, personally motivating his players and visiting them in the dressing rooms following losses. KKR is set to begin IPL 2025 with a match against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Saturday. Supporters are hoping for favorable weather, despite predictions of rain.

Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal, Shraddha Kapoor to attend

In addition to Shah Rukh, it is anticipated that celebrities such as Salman Khan, Vicky Kaushal, and Shraddha Kapoor will be present at the opening ceremony at Eden Gardens. The American pop band OneRepublic has also been invited to perform, alongside artists like Shreya Ghoshal, Disha Patani, Karan Aujla, Arijit Singh, Shraddha Kapoor, and Varun Dhawan.

"Their attendance is expected to bring an element of glamour and excitement to this eagerly awaited event. Shah Rukh is likely to be there since his team is competing in the opening match, while Salman may attend to promote his forthcoming film, Sikandar."
