King is planned to be Deepika's sixth feature with SRK, and she will play a significant role in the film, albeit in what is being called an "extended cameo" that is essential to the plot. She will star as the superstar's ex-lover and the mother of Suhana Khan's character in the revenge action movie. According to a source, her character is crucial to the plot and the main tension in the storyline, even though it's merely an extended cameo part.
Although the role is not a prominent lead, Deepika "eagerly accepted the offer" due to the strong interest from SRK and Anand in having her on board. Their previous collaborations, Pathaan and Jawan, achieved significant success, and it is anticipated that they will come together again for Pathaan 2 next year under the banner of Yash Raj Films.

With Suhana's imminent theatrical debut alongside her father in a gripping and emotionally intense narrative has generated significant excitement surrounding the film, titled King. After Sujoy Ghosh stepped down as the director of King, Anand took the helm and has since made significant revisions to the script. Curiously, Saif Ali Khan and Tabu were initially considered for the roles of Suhana's parents, but this idea was ultimately abandoned. Nevertheless, the final cast remains impressive. Breakout star Abhay Verma, known for his role in Munjya, has a significant part, alongside Shah Rukh, Suhana, and Deepika, with Abhishek Bachchan portraying the film's menacing antagonist.
