Actor Kim Sung-cheol has expressed his regret after participating in a poll associated with contentious material concerning female K-pop idols. According to Soompi, a representative for Sung-cheol described the situation as an "incident resulting from negligence."

Kim Sung-cheol's team shares apology

On Monday, a spokesperson from Story J Company addressed the error in an official statement. The representative acknowledged, “He understands the mistake resulting from this negligent action. However, it is inaccurate to claim that he engaged with or consumed content from the account, as has been suggested online. Upon recognizing the account's controversial nature, he retracted his vote.”

The spokesperson further remarked, “It appears that this issue has impacted other artists, and we sincerely regret that. We have already extended our apologies to their respective agencies. This incident stemmed from a lack of attention, and we will exercise greater caution in our social media practices moving forward to prevent a recurrence of this error.”

Sung-cheol was one of the participants in a poll conducted by an Instagram account. It shares slow-motion videos of female idol performances. It featured ex-IZ*ONE Kwon Eun Bi and Kang Hye Won.

Mr Plankton actor Kim Min Seok and Melomance's vocalist Kim Min Seok also took part in the activities. The account has nearly 700 posts that are sexual in nature. They included photos and videos of the idols in revealing outfits.
