Actor Kim Soo-hyun was set to make his first public appearance at an event in Taiwan next week, amidst the controversy surrounding Kim Sae-ron's dating allegations. However, according to Koreaboo, the fan meet-and-greet scheduled for March 30 has been postponed for safety reasons. This event would have been his first public engagement since March 10, when allegations arose regarding his relationship with Sae-ron, who was reportedly a minor at the time.

Kim Soo-hyun to miss Taiwan event due to Kim Sae-ron controversy  

According to the report, Soo-hyun's agency, Gold Medalist, issued a statement concerning the event. "The Taiwanese brand event featuring Kim Soo-hyun has been postponed for safety reasons," the statement indicated.

Organizer's explanation for the change  

The event organizer, Taiwan 7-Eleven, cited a 'schedule change' as the reason for Soo-hyun's absence. "Performing guest Kim Soo-hyun is unable to attend the ‘Kim Soo-hyun fan meeting,’ originally planned for March 30, 2025, due to a schedule change. OPENPOINT points will be fully refunded to participating members. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause," they announced on Facebook, as reported.

Soo-hyun was scheduled to participate in the Kaohsiung Cherry Blossom Festival, an event organized by Taiwan’s 7-Eleven. He was expected to engage with fans for approximately 40 minutes, and reports indicated that 50 police officers would be present to ensure security at the event.

Controversy Surrounding Soo-hyun

Soo-hyun has recently been embroiled in controversy regarding his relationship with Sae-ron, who tragically passed away in February of this year. The 24-year-old was discovered deceased at her residence. Her career had been in decline following a drunk-driving incident, and local media suggested that she was struggling with debt, taking on part-time work to manage her financial obligations. Allegations have emerged against Soo-hyun, claiming he dated Sae-ron while she was still a minor, based on testimonies from her family members in a YouTube exposé.

According to Gold Medalist, Sae-ron owed the company approximately 0.7 billion won ($483,759.50) in damages and penalties stemming from the drunk-driving incident. In 2024, she shared a photo of herself with Soo-hyun, which was soon removed, leading to speculation about their romantic involvement.
