Actor Kim Soo-hyun's agency, GOLDMEDALIST, has issued a comprehensive statement refuting the recent allegations put forth by the family of the late Kim Sae-ron and their legal counsel. These claims were presented during a press conference alongside HoverLab. According to a report by Soompi, GOLDMEDALIST asserted that the individual depicted in a 2017 photograph taken at Sae-ron's residence was not Kim Soo-hyun. The agency further accused the family of the late actress of disseminating misleading information regarding Soo-hyun.

In reference to the 2017 image, GOLDMEDALIST stated, "HoverLab once again asserted via their YouTube channel that Kim Soo-hyun was in a relationship with Kim Sae-ron during her underage years, citing a photo shared on June 23, 2017, by a fan of Kim Sae-ron on social media. However, the individual depicted in the image is not Kim Soo-hyun, but rather someone else. HoverLab contended that the attire worn by the person in the photograph resembles a product previously endorsed by Kim Soo-hyun. Nevertheless, the clothing in the image originates from a different brand than the one associated with Kim Soo-hyun."

Attributing the situation to her family, GOLDMEDALIST remarked that Soo-hyun never visited the apartment. "We find it unnecessary for our company to address unfounded claims based on a photo from a fan account, where the face is not even discernible. Despite this, the family has made new assertions that Kim Soo-hyun regularly visited the apartment where Kim Sae-ron resided with her family and met in secret when her family was absent, all based on this faceless image. Kim Soo-hyun has never been to the location that HoverLab specifically identified as 'this elevator.' It was HoverLab that visited, not Kim Soo-hyun," the statement continued.

Soo-hyun's agency's message for her family

The agency requested that her family refrain from making unfounded accusations based on a solitary photograph that bears no relevance to the core of the incident or a post discovered online. Additionally, it clarified that it did not exert any pressure on Kim Sae-ron concerning compensation for damages. Furthermore, it raised inquiries regarding the true identity of Sae-ron's aunt.

The actor is currently embroiled in controversy due to allegations regarding a past relationship with Sae-Ron when she was underage. According to another report from Soompi, he has also been accused of coercing her to "repay a penalty of 700 million won (approximately $481,200)."

Kim Sae-ron was discovered deceased in February at her residence. Her career had declined following a drunk driving incident, and local media indicated that she was in financial distress, taking on part-time employment to manage her debts. In 2024, Kim Sae-ron shared a photograph with Kim Soo-hyun, which she promptly deleted, leading to speculation about a potential romantic relationship between the two.
