Actor Kim Soo Hyun is experiencing significant criticism following reports of his relationship with Kim Sae-ron during her underage years. Sae-ron tragically took her own life on February 16, and subsequently, the YouTube channel Garosero Research Institute disclosed that she had been involved with Soo Hyun for some time.

Kim Soo Hyun’s love letter to Kim Sae-ron

Sae-ron’s aunt presented a handwritten love letter, which she asserts was composed by Soo Hyun when Sae-ron was 17 and he was 30 years old. Dated June 9, 2018, during his military service, the letter recounts the moments they experienced together. In the correspondence, he affectionately refers to her as Saero-Nero and expresses his feelings of longing.

A translated excerpt from the letter, as reported by Koreaboo, states, “Today, the weather was so unpredictable that I felt as though I was being tossed around in every direction on this wonderful Saturday. It is a perfect day for writing and reflecting on you, Saero-Nero.” He further elaborates on his desire to share experiences that he finds ‘beautiful and meaningful,’ stating, “Even though it’s difficult to see your face, I still wish to express my feelings to you.”

Additionally, he is said to have written, “What I mean to convey is… I simply want to share what I consider good, what brings me joy, and what I am observing or feeling… I want to share these sentiments with you. Although it’s challenging to see you, I still wish to communicate my inner feelings. I don’t want to impose on you… So, what I can express is… I miss you,” concluding with, “Please take good care of me.”

Kim Soo Hyun dated Kim Sae-ron for 6 years

The YouTube channel reported that Soo Hyun and Sae-ron were in a relationship for six years, a claim that had been widely speculated but never officially acknowledged. Following the negative reactions, there have been discussions regarding Soo Hyun potentially losing job opportunities and brand partnerships. Additionally, old images from his military service emerged, including one depicting him kissing Sae-Ron. A postcard dated January 1, 2019, expressed, “I love you, Sae Ron.”

Sae-Ron was 24 years old when she was discovered deceased at her residence. Authorities classified her death as a suicide the following day. Her funeral took place on February 19. In 2022, the actress encountered DUI charges after colliding with multiple objects while driving. Despite issuing an apology, she faced significant backlash for the incident.
