In light of the ongoing controversy involving the late Kim Sae-ron, her family has disclosed information regarding her relationship with actor Kim Soo-hyun, including their discussions during her minor years. According to Soompi, a legal spokesperson for Sae-ron’s family conducted a press conference, stating that they are "currently facing significant anxiety and are unable to make public appearances."

The family has asked for an end to the "criticism aimed at them." Part of their statement noted, "The family felt compelled to reveal that Kim Soo-hyun had been in a relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron while she was still a minor in order to pursue legal action against YouTuber Lee Jin Ho, who spread false information, demeaned, and ridiculed the late Kim Sae-ron, ultimately contributing to her tragic death."

Sae-ron's family has criticized Soo-hyun for his repeated falsehoods regarding their relationship when she was underage. They stated, "In response, Kim Soo-hyun has denied ever being in a relationship with her, despite evidence confirming their connection. He has not issued a single apology, and now he is once again being dishonest by claiming their relationship only started after she turned 18." The family expressed their desire to avoid any further pointless arguments about the truth.

Sae-ron's family claims to share her 2016 chats with Soo-hyun

They also asserted that they had proof regarding the conversations between Sae-ron and Soo-hyun during her minor years. The legal counsel submitted images of KakaoTalk messages purportedly exchanged between the two. These messages were dated June 24, 2016, when a 15-year-old Sae-ron reportedly discussed receiving an IV drip at the hospital, with Soo-hyun inquiring about her well-being. In the following days, their discussions included topics of longing, kissing, and sharing intimate moments. At that time, Soo-hyun was 28 years old.

When Sae-ron allegedly wrote letter to Soo-hyun

The family disclosed screenshots of Instagram direct messages exchanged between Sae-ron and her friend dated April 9, 2024. In these messages, they reportedly discussed her relationship with Soo-hyun. Additionally, they asserted that Sae-ron penned a letter to Soo-hyun following the receipt of a second certification of contents.

According to the family, the letter contained an apology from Sae-ron for sharing his photograph, describing the individuals at GOLD MEDALIST as "very scary and uncomfortable." In her correspondence, Sae-ron referred to Soo-hyun as her "first and last love," expressing her distress over his avoidance of her. She also included her phone number, urging Soo-hyun to reply to her letter.
