The former boyfriend of the late Kim Sae-ron has allegedly stated that actor Kim Soo-hyun was not involved in her passing. According to Koreaboo, which cited THE FACT, he revealed the conversations he had with Sae-ron before her death. The publication did not disclose the identity of her ex-boyfriend.

He expressed his frustration by stating, "It is incomprehensible to me that her aunt, who has suddenly emerged claiming to be part of Sae-ron's grieving family, is now suggesting that Kim Sae-ron's death is linked to Kim Soo-hyun. As someone who was closest to Sae-ron, I find it absurd. Furthermore, the lack of awareness regarding her marriage to the man from New York highlights the minimal communication that existed among them."

He also expressed his condolences to the well-known celebrity Soo-hyun, suggesting that he must be experiencing feelings of injustice. "When she was alive, they showed little concern. Yet now that she has passed, they are resurrecting a relationship from years past with a renowned actor? There must be a hidden agenda at play here. Although I have never met Kim Soo-hyun, I can only speculate on the sense of unfairness he must be feeling, facing such criticism simply due to his celebrity status," he remarked.

About Sae-ron's husband, her death

According to the report, Sae-ron first encountered her husband in November 2024, and they subsequently married in 2025. Unfortunately, he subjected her to both physical and verbal abuse, prompting her to confide in her former boyfriend.

Upon discovering their communication, her husband confiscated her phone and began to monitor her activities. He alleged that her ex-boyfriend had threatened him over an abusive message.

The ex-boyfriend expressed that Sae-ron was troubled by her family's lack of concern for her circumstances. Last year, she attempted to take her own life and required emergency surgery, yet her family did not visit her during her hospital stay.

In February, Sae-ron was found deceased at her residence. Her career had declined following a drunk driving incident, and local media reported that she was in debt, working part-time jobs to manage her financial obligations.

The actor is presently embroiled in controversy due to claims regarding a previous relationship with Sae-ron during her minor years. According to another report from Soompi, he has also faced accusations of coercing her to "repay a penalty of 700 million won (around $481,200)."
