Kiccha Sudeep is getting ready for the launch of his new movie, Max. The Kannada star hosted a press conference before the film hits theaters on December 25. When a reporter asked why the film has an English title, Sudeep fired back with a thoughtful response, challenging the question.

Kichcha Sudeep shared his thoughts

A reporter asked the actor why he picked an English title for his upcoming Kannada film, Max. He replied, "Why do all news channels have English names when the audience and people like me are Kannadigas? We’re in Karnataka, with English-medium schools, and the kids there are Kannadigas too!"

Then he challenged the reporter, saying, "Do you have an Apple? Why not try saying Apple in Kannada? So what's the issue here?"

All about Max

Directed by Vijay Karthikeyaa, Max features Sunil and Varalaxmi Sarathkumar in leading roles. The film's teaser showcases Sudeep as a character skilled with machetes, hinting at his quest for revenge against those who wronged him. It wraps up with a lively scene of him dancing at a local temple festival, surrounded by drummers and performers dressed as goddesses.

Max is set to hit theaters in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi. Besides Max, Sudeep has two untitled projects in the pipeline, along with Billa Ranga Baashaa and Kabzaa 2.

On a personal note, the actor faced a significant loss a few months back in October when his mother, Saroja Sanjeev, passed away due to age-related issues. He expressed his grief on X, saying, “I have no words to express the pain I feel right now, I'm unable to accept the Void nor come to terms with what has happened. Everything changed in 24 hours.”
