Recently, there were reports of issues occurring on the set of director Sundar C’s Mookuthi Amman 2. Speculation suggested that lead actress Nayanthara had caused disruptions during filming in Chennai, leading the production team to contemplate replacing her with Tamannaah Bhatia. In response, Khushbu Sundar took to X (formerly Twitter) to dispel these rumors.

Khushbu emphasized that there were "too many unnecessary rumors" circulating regarding Mookuthi Amman 2, assuring everyone that the shooting was proceeding as scheduled. She stated, “To all the well-wishers of #SundarC Sir. There are too many unnecessary rumors about ##MookuthiAmman2. Please relax. The shoot is progressing smoothly and as planned.”
The actor-politician also highlighted the professionalism of both Sundar and Nayanthara, expressing her satisfaction with Nayanthara reprising her role. “Everyone knows Sundar is a straightforward individual. #Nayanthara is a highly professional actress who has demonstrated her talent. We are more than pleased to have her return to a role she has previously portrayed,” Khushbu remarked.
Additionally, Khushbu mentioned that everything occurs for a reason, without elaborating further, and added, “These rumors are akin to 'drishti edutha maadhiri'. Earlier this week, Hindu Tamil reported an incident on set involving Nayanthara and an assistant director, which escalated over a costume dispute. This confrontation reportedly angered Sundar, leading him to pause the filming in Chennai. The report further suggested that there were discussions about potentially replacing Nayanthara with Tamannaah. Additionally, it mentioned that producer Ishari K Ganesh intervened to resolve the matter with Nayanthara. Khushbu later posted to assure everyone that everything was fine on set.
Sundar has taken over the directorial role from RJ Balaji for the sequel to the 2020 film Mookuthi Amman. The cast includes Urvashi, Duniya Vijay, Regina Cassandra, Yogi Babu, Abhinaya, and Meena, with the film being produced by Vels Film International, Avni Cinemax, Rowdy Pictures, and Ivy Entertainment.
