Kevin Costner recently spoke about the rumoured conflict with his Yellowstone co-star Luke Grimes. While in Aspen earlier this week, the 69-year-old actor expressed his views regarding the finale of the Western drama.

In a video shared by Daily Mail, the Academy Award-winning actor disclosed that he has not contemplated the contentious conclusion of the series. “I’m not even thinking about that. I don’t think I’ve given it any thought,” stated Costner, who portrays John Dutton in Yellowstone. “So, we’ll just let it go,” he further remarked.

When questioned about his communication with Grimes, Costner responded, “No. We’re done talking.” These comments emerged amidst his purported conflict with the 40-year-old actor, who plays Kayce Dutton in the popular series. The American Sniper star mentioned on Tuesday that the two have not conversed since Costner's unexpected departure from the show.

“I haven’t talked to him since,” Grimes told Men’s Health MH Flex, clarifying, “It’s not a case of any hard feelings or anything. It’s just, he’s Kevin Costner.” Referring to Costner as a “big deal,” the Fifty Shades of Grey actor added, “I do have his phone number — I just don’t feel like it’s my place to reach out. He can reach out to me if he wants to.”

Following Costner's sudden exit from the series during the production of its fifth season, rumours began to circulate suggesting that his departure was due to a dispute with the show's creator, Taylor Sheridan. In the interview released on Tuesday, Grimes denied these allegations.

“None of us saw it coming the way it did, and there was news about possible blowups behind the scenes or whatever,” the True Blood alum explained to the publication. “But just like in life, man, these things happen, they happen fast, and they’re not predictable,” he concluded.
