Karan Singh Tyagi kicked off his directing career with the Karan Johar-produced film Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh. The teaser, which showed Akshay Kumar dropping the f-bomb, created quite a buzz. In a chat with Filmy Shilmy, Karan explained that they did extensive research and talked to historians before deciding to use that phrase in the movie.

Karan shared, "Including the phrase 'f**k you' in the film was crucial for us. We wanted to confront the British directly and express our anger over their actions. We drew inspiration from Sankaran Nair's story, which embodies that same bravery we aimed to portray." When asked about the historical accuracy of the phrase, he replied, "The term dates back to the 16th century. We did our homework, consulted historians, and made sure we had all the facts straight."

Earlier, at the trailer launch, Akshay Kumar also mentioned his character, C Sankaran Nair, using the expletive in the teaser. He remarked, "Yes, I said that word. But it's interesting that you noticed that, while the phrase 'you are still a slave' didn't seem to raise any eyebrows? I think that's a far greater insult. I would have preferred if you highlighted the use of 'slave' instead of focusing on 'f**k you.'"

Kesari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh is a gripping historical courtroom drama from Dharma Productions, Leo Media Collective, and Cape of Good Films. Akshay Kumar takes on the role of Advocate C. Sankaran Nair, who bravely stands up to the British Empire to reveal the truth about the Jallianwala Bagh Massacre.

R Madhavan plays Advocate Neville McKinley, while Ananya Panday portrays Dilreet Gill. Regina Cassandra plays Parvathy Nair, Sankaran’s wife, and Simon Paisley Day is cast as General Reginald Dyer. The film has been well-received by audiences, critics, and industry insiders, quickly surpassing the lifetime earnings of Shahid Kapoor’s Deva with ₹56 crore in just four days, and it’s still going strong at the box office.
