Keerthy Suresh is presently in Mumbai following the release of her Bollywood debut, Baby John, which premiered in theatres earlier this week. The actress, who is already a prominent figure in the Tamil and Telugu film industries, is now establishing her presence among Hindi-speaking audiences. Recently, while out in Mumbai, she encountered an unpleasant situation with the paparazzi, prompting her to address the matter directly.

Keerthy was seen in Mumbai on Thursday evening as she stepped out following Christmas, wearing a denim dress. Outside the venue, she took a moment to pose for the photographers. During the photo opportunity, the photographers attempted to capture her attention by calling out to her, mistakenly referring to her as Kriti. The actress promptly corrected them, stating, "Not Kriti, but Keerthy." The two names, while phonetically similar, hold distinct meanings in both Hindi and Sanskrit.

Subsequently, some photographers began to use the term 'dosa,' a controversial label that Bollywood paparazzi have employed when addressing southern actors. A visibly annoyed Keerthy responded, “I am not Keerthy Dosa, but Keerthy Suresh. However, I do enjoy dosa.”

Keerthy Suresh's film career

Baby John, directed by Kalees, marks Keerthy's debut in Hindi cinema. The film features notable actors such as Varun Dhawan, Wamiqa Gabbi, and Jackie Shroff. Keerthy has, however, been quite active in the southern film industry, with successful films including Ring Master (2014), Nenu Sailaja (2016), Rajinimurugan (2016), Remo (2016), Bairavaa (2017), Nenu Local (2017), Sarkar (2018), and Thaanaa Serndha Koottam (2018). She received a National Award for Best Actress for her role in Mahanati.

Earlier this month, Keerthy celebrated her marriage to her longtime partner, Antony Thattil. The couple exchanged vows on December 12, 2024, in Goa, during a traditional wedding ceremony that blended Tamil Brahmin and Christian customs.
