Actor Katrina Kaif has established herself as a remarkable dancer in Bollywood, delivering popular dance numbers such as Chikni Chameli, Sheila Ki Jawani, and Afghan Jalebi, among many others. Interestingly, Katrina was not always a natural dancer. Choreographer Terence Lewis recently shared in an interview that when she made her debut in 2003, she lacked rhythm, but he has been impressed by her evolution over the years.

‘She was struggling with dance steps’

In a conversation with Pinkvilla, Terence recalled, "I remember her visiting my studio shortly after the release of Boom. She was participating in a diamond jewellery show. We were attempting to teach her, but she was quite young and new to India, appearing somewhat bewildered about what to do. We kept the choreography more Western, yet she still faced challenges with the dance steps. She didn’t have the rhythm at that time," Terence explained.

However, when Terence witnessed Katrina's impressive performance in Zara Zara Touch Me from Race (2008), he was astonished to see how much she had transformed.

"After Boom, I worked with her again. At that time, she didn’t have the same physique, and her dancing was not at the level it is now. When she performed Zara Zara Touch Me, I called Bosco (Martis, choreographer) and asked, ‘Is this the same girl, with that figure?’ Katrina Kaif is one of the most dedicated actors. She was not trained as a dancer and had a tall, statuesque build. The effort she has put into her physique and dance skills is truly commendable," the choreographer remarked.

Terence reveals the best dancers in Bollywood

When asked to name the top dancers in Bollywood, Terence mentioned several individuals but particularly emphasized the elegance of Deepika Padukone and the beauty of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on screen.
