Katrina Kaif Mobbed by Selfie-Seeking Crowd at Maha Kumbh Mela
1 month ago | 5 Views
Katrina Kaif's fans are really sympathizing with her after some new footage from the Mahakumbh popped up on social media on Tuesday. The video, captured by a drone, shows her taking the holy dip at the Triveni Sangam, and it also highlights the massive crowd that gathered around her and her family for selfies and photos.
A case for VIP culture?
The drone video captures Katrina in an orange outfit, flanked by her mother-in-law, several priests and priestesses, a group of bodyguards, and other pilgrims who came for the sacred dip. However, it looks like most of them are more focused on snapping selfies with the actress. A few reporters hurried over with their cameras and microphones as a couple of guys draped a towel around her shoulders right after the dip.
Fans of the actor felt that folks were getting a bit too close to Katrina. Some even argued that the video highlights the need for 'VIP culture' (special treatment for VIPs). One person said, “And they want to get rid of VIP culture—look at this situation! If they were treated like regular people, who knows how the crowd would react!”
Another chimed in, “This is exactly why VIP culture is important and should stick around.”
Someone else mentioned, “People really need to understand basic respect; let her enjoy her moment in peace.” Another added, “There’s just too much chaos around her...let her have her holy dip in peace...I’m feeling anxious just watching this.”
Katrina at Kumbh
Katrina was also at the bhajan led by Swami Chidanand Saraswati, the President of Parmarth Niketan Ashram. Abhishek Banerjee was there too, joining the spiritual event.
Talking about the massive turnout of devotees, including many celebrities, at the Maha Kumbh, Swami Chidanand Saraswati shared with ANI, "Mahakumbh is all about 'Snan, Dhyan and Daan' (holy dip, meditation, and charity). Today, Katrina took a holy dip, meditated, and participated in 'Annadaan'. She believes that she sees God in everyone... This kind of belief keeps our nation thriving. I resonate with PM Modi's views. The way CM Yogi Adityanath has organized everything makes this Mahakumbh about 'Vyavastha, Arthvyavastha and Astitva' (arrangement, economy, and identity)... This Kumbh is for everyone, and those who haven't come yet should definitely visit and take a holy dip..."
