Actor Karishma Tanna, who resides near Saif Ali Khan, has addressed the recent stabbing incident that took place at his residence in Mumbai. She underscored the necessity of being vigilant, describing the occurrence as a crucial alert for the community.

The event transpired on Thursday when an unknown assailant entered Saif's home, inflicting at least six stab wounds during an unsuccessful burglary attempt. Saif was promptly taken to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai for medical care and is currently reported to be in stable condition.

Karishma reacts

In a recent interview, Karishma described the circumstances as 'frightening' and called for enhanced security measures in her neighbourhood. She resides in a building located diagonally opposite to the residence of Saif and Kareena Kapoor. Saif lives with his family in the Satguru Sharan building.

“It’s quite chaotic outside as I speak… there is a significant presence of police and media below. This entire event serves as a crucial reminder for many standalone buildings in Bandra. For over a year, I have been urging everyone in my cooperative housing society to bolster security. I believe the watchmen require proper training, as they are not dependable in emergencies. If an intruder were to enter your building, the watchmen lack the necessary skills to manage the situation. How can a family cope with such an event? It is indeed alarming," Karishma expressed.

The actress further remarked, “I hope this incident serves as a lesson for others. No one deserves what happened to that family. I am confident that my building will now enhance security measures and employ additional guards.”

Saif Ali Khan in hospital

Saif Ali Khan, aged 54, was assaulted by an intruder who unlawfully entered his residence at approximately 3 a.m. on Thursday. He has since undergone surgery for stab wounds at Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai and is currently in a stable condition. The Mumbai police are actively investigating the incident, with six teams assigned to apprehend the perpetrator.

Dr. Nitin Dange from Lilavati Hospital reported that Saif suffered a significant injury to his thoracic spinal cord due to a knife that became lodged in his spine. "Saif Ali Khan was admitted to the hospital at 2 a.m. following an alleged assault by an unidentified individual. He incurred a serious injury to the thoracic spinal cord as a result of the knife lodged in his spine. A surgical procedure was conducted to extract the knife and address the leaking spinal fluid. He is now completely stable, recovering well, and is out of danger," the doctor stated.
