Sandeep Reddy Vanga is experiencing significant success following his films Kabir Singh and Animal, and he is now preparing for his third project in Bollywood. His upcoming film, Spirit, featuring Prabhas, is scheduled for release in 2026, with production expected to commence in the first quarter of 2025. Furthermore, pre-production activities are currently in progress, along with the casting for this action-oriented thriller.

Prabhas’ Spirit Brings A Starry Ensemble Onboard?

Recent reports indicate that SRV, in collaboration with producer Bhushan Kumar, is in discussions with Mrunal Thakur to take on the role of the female lead in their upcoming film. The project, titled Spirit, is anticipated to be one of the most highly awaited and ambitious endeavours in Indian cinema, with the team striving to assemble a stellar cast. Prabhas is set to portray the role of a police officer, while Mrunal Thakur is in negotiations for the female lead. Additionally, there are rumours that Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor may be cast in antagonistic roles.

Furthermore, sources suggest that Spirit will be a unique cop-centric action thriller, marking Vanga's effort to redefine perceptions of police films. According to insiders, "This narrative is unprecedented within the framework of a commercial Indian film. The story features both virtuous and villainous characters, infused with the nuanced shades of grey that Vanga is renowned for. Each character serves a distinct purpose, making it one of the most ambitious projects for Sandeep Reddy Vanga."

The aforementioned report indicated that the writing and preparation for the project are currently progressing vigorously. Those who have experienced the narration express confidence that Prabhas will portray a unique character in Vanga's Spirit. Additionally, Saif and Kareena Kapoor are expected to exhibit a distinctive dynamic, with their roles featuring negative elements. This film will mark the first instance of a real-life couple taking on antagonistic roles together. The pair is also anticipated to engage in significant action sequences, and if all proceeds as planned, they will soon finalize their contracts.

Produced by Bhushan Kumar and Sandeep Reddy Vanga, Spirit is projected for release in 2026. Following the completion of this film, Vanga is set to begin filming Animal Park with Ranbir Kapoor in 2027.
