Kareena took to her Instagram Stories to post a throwback pic with Zakir and her dad, Randhir Kapoor. In the snap, Zakir and Randhir are smiling and shaking hands while Kareena is looking down. She captioned it, "Maestro forever (red heart emojis)." Meanwhile, Ranveer Singh shared a vintage black and white shot of Zakir jamming on the tabla, adding, "(Red heart, nazar amulet, and folded hands emojis) #Maestro #UstadZakirHussain."

Bhumi Pednekar shared a throwback pic of Zakir on Instagram, writing, "Maestro 🤍 His rhythm will stay in our hearts forever 💔🙏 #zakirhussain." Drummer Nate Smith expressed his gratitude, saying, "Thanks for all the music you gave us, Zakir."

Renuka Shahane took to her Instagram Stories to post a tribute, stating, "Legend, icon, maestro, wizard, genius—words can't capture such incredible talent. This is a huge loss for the music world. #UstaadZakirHussain." Shweta Tiwari also shared her sorrow, saying, "We lost our legend today. Such heartbreaking news."

Ricky Kej and Riteish Deshmukh penned a heartfelt note for the tabla master.

Riteish Deshmukh shared a nostalgic photo of Zakir on X (formerly Twitter). He expressed, "The loss of Zakir Hussain Sahab is a huge hit to India and the worldwide music scene. Your music was a true gift, a treasure that will keep inspiring and uplifting future generations. Your legacy will endure. May your soul find eternal peace, embraced by the rhythms and melodies. About Zakir Hussain

Zakir passed away in a San Francisco hospital, as his family shared on Monday. He succumbed to complications from idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis and was 73 years old. After spending two weeks in the hospital, his condition worsened, leading to his transfer to the ICU.

Known as the greatest tabla player of his time, Zakir is survived by his wife, Antonia Minnecola, and his daughters, Anisa and Isabella Qureshi. Born on March 9, 1951, he was the son of the legendary tabla maestro Ustad Alla Rakha. The family’s statement highlighted that he leaves behind an incredible legacy that will be treasured by music lovers worldwide for many years to come.
