Filmmaker Karan Johar has commemorated the birthday of his children, son Yash and daughter Roohi. On Friday, he took to Instagram to share a collection of photographs featuring the three of them, accompanied by a heartfelt message. Yash and Roohi celebrated their eighth birthday on this day.

In the images, the family members donned casual attire. Karan was dressed in a black sweatshirt paired with matching pants and white sneakers. Roohi sported a blue T-shirt and pants, while Yash was seen in a vibrant red outfit. The trio displayed a range of smiles and expressions for the camera.

In his post, Karan wrote, “My greatest achievement is being a father…. I chose their names in honour of my parents because I believe that beyond lineage or a name, an emotion must endure … they are my everything!!! Happy birthday Roohi and Yash… my deepest wish for you both is to always be kind (red heart emojis).”

In response to the post, an individual commented, "Absolutely adorable and so well-groomed, showcasing their unique personalities... Wishing a happy birthday to these cuties!" Another admirer expressed, "Sending loads of love and best wishes, may each day be filled with happiness. Happy birthday, Yash and Roohi." A further comment stated, "Happy Birthday to Yash and Roohi. May God bless them with joy and good health."

Regarding Yash and Roohi, Karan welcomed them through surrogacy in February 2017. He named Yash in honour of his late father, Yash Johar, while Roohi's name is derived from an anagram of his mother's name, Hiroo. During an appearance on Pinch By Arbaaz Khan in 2019, Karan discussed the experience of being a single parent and the associated challenges.

Karan shared with Arbaaz, "As a single parent, I face unique challenges. However, I believe that the roles of men and women should not be viewed as distinct. Such thinking is outdated. I have ample love to offer my children, and I also have my mother at home, whom they affectionately call mumma."
