In the initial photograph, a young Karan is seen embracing Hiroo while he reclines on a bed, dressed in a blue and black ensemble. Hiroo, on the other hand, is attired in a green suit. The subsequent image, captured in black and white, features toddler Karan being held by his mother, with both of them smiling. This picture, likely taken on his birthday, depicts Hiroo gazing affectionately at Karan.

In sharing the photographs, Karan wrote, "Today marks my mother's 82nd birthday… I am filled with gratitude towards the universe for the honor of being her child. She provides me with stability each day ('they gave you an award??? Why??') and keeps me grounded ('be grateful … it could all disappear one day')."
"She offers her guidance in chapter one ('what are you wearing, Karan???') and continues in chapter two ('you are always on your phone!!!!'). Nevertheless, she is my entire world, my universe, and the grand narrative of my life (red heart emojis). Love you, Mama (hug face emojis)," he concluded.

About Johar family
Karan is the offspring of Hiroo and her deceased spouse, the esteemed filmmaker Yash Johar. In February 2017, he welcomed his children, Yash and Roohi, through surrogacy. He named his son Yash in honor of his late father and selected the name Roohi as an anagram of Hiroo.
