Karan Johar, the filmmaker, introduced Saif Ali Khan's son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, to Bollywood with his movie Nadaaniyan. Unfortunately, the film faced a lot of criticism for its awkward dialogues, and the performances of the cast were also called into question. Recently, at the trailer launch for his new project Akaal, Karan took a moment to respond to the backlash regarding Nadaaniyan.

Karan Johar addresses the criticism surrounding Nadaaniyan

At the event, when Karan was asked about Nadaaniyan and the trolling directed at Ibrahim and Khushi Kapoor, he responded, "I’ll just say this—there’s a classic line from an old movie: People will always have something to say; that’s just what they do… so let’s ignore the pointless chatter and enjoy the moment before the night ends."

He also shared his thoughts on the harsh critiques from critics and trolls, saying, “My feelings towards critics don’t change based on their reviews. That’s their job. I don’t believe in any conspiracy theory that they’re trying to sabotage the film. Sometimes trolls come out, but they’re just faceless individuals, poor things who are projecting their own issues onto us. I just feel sorry for them, that’s all.”

He went on to say, "I truly respect all the critics out there. But when you come across certain comments, it hits you that these are someone's kids, and their parents see this too. One critic even said they wanted to kick this film. I have an issue with people who write stuff like that."

Karan also jokingly mentioned his own movies, saying, "I don’t have a problem with any critics. You have your opinions, and we accept that. We have our own moments of foolishness, some mistakes, and sometimes, we dive deep into emotions," which got the crowd cheering. He added, "But when you make such statements, it says more about you than the film."
