He has not only directed several iconic films in this genre but has also supported numerous others through his production company and social media platforms. The most recent film to benefit from his endorsement is Advait Chandan's forthcoming romantic comedy, Loveyapa, featuring Junaid Khan and Khushi Kapoor.

What Karan said

On Monday, Karan utilized his Instagram account to unveil a poster for "Loveyapa," which showcases the two lead actors forming Korean heart symbols while adorned in shiny grey jackets. In his caption, Karan expressed, “Prepare for the first love story success of 2025… #loveyapa resonates with the Tech and App-savvy Gen Z through a love narrative that is not only highly entertaining but also conveys meaningful insights with clarity and conciseness… it truly represents an exceptional cinematic experience! You will find yourself enamoured with all the characters (a remarkable ensemble) and cheering for the charming and captivating leads, #junaidkhan and @khushikapoor.”

He further remarked, “I would gladly watch the film again, and I extend my utmost appreciation to director @advaitchandan for infusing the film with pace, unwavering energy, humour, emotion, and compelling storytelling! Congratulations to Madhu Mantena, Shrishti Behl, and the entire cast and crew for delivering the finest popcorn experience I have enjoyed at the cinema in quite some time!” Khushi subsequently shared Karan's commendation on her Instagram Stories, accompanied by two white heart emojis and a teary-eyed emoji.

About Loveyapa

Produced by Phantom Films, under the leadership of Madhu Mantena and Srishti Behl, Loveyapa signifies the theatrical debut of Junaid Khan, the elder son of Aamir Khan, and Khushi Kapoor, the younger daughter of the late Sridevi. Both newcomers previously made their acting debuts in Siddharth P Malhotra's 2024 period drama Maharaj and Zoya Akhtar's 2023 coming-of-age musical The Archies on Netflix India, respectively. Loveyapa tells the story of a prospective couple whose phones are swapped by the girl's father and features performances by Ashutosh Rana and Kiku Sharda. The film is set to be released in theaters on February 7.

Later this year, Khushi will appear alongside Ibrahim Khan in his debut film, Nadaaniyan, which will be released directly on Netflix India. This project is produced by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions and directed by first-time filmmaker Shauna Gautam.
