It has been officially confirmed that Sreeleela, known for her role in Pushpa 2, will star opposite Kartik Aaryan in the forthcoming romantic film, previously known as Aashiqui 3. The film, directed by Anurag Basu, is scheduled for release during Diwali in 2025. On February 15, the production team unveiled the teaser, which received significant attention. Subsequently, Karan Johar shared his thoughts on the teaser via his social media platform.

Karan Johar utilized his Instagram Story to re-share the teaser for the romantic film featuring Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela. He commended the teaser and expressed his enthusiasm for Anurag Basu's project.

He wrote, "The essence of love stories... the fervor, the romance, and the music! Super vibe! Everything is on point!!! Looking forward to it."

The teaser showcases the upcoming duo, Kartik Aaryan and Sreeleela, who are expected to display their compelling chemistry within the musical narrative produced by Bhushan Kumar and directed by Anurag Basu. This intense love story aims to resonate deeply with audiences. The teaser features Kartik in a romantic guise, complete with a thick beard and tousled long hair, while Sreeleela is seen resting her head on his shoulder as he strums the guitar.

For those unfamiliar, Triptii Dimri was initially cast as the female lead. However, a report from Zoom indicated that Triptii was unable to fit into the world of Aashiqui due to her bold performance in Animal.

Kartik officially announced Aashiqui 3 in September 2022. Sharing a preview of the third installment on his Instagram, he stated, "Now, without you, we will endure, we will drink the poison of life, Aashiqui 3. This will be heart-wrenching!! My first collaboration with Basu Da (sic)."

In a recent interview with ANI, Anurag Basu mentioned, "We will commence shooting next month" (March). Additionally, in a conversation with HT City, Anurag indicated that Aashiqui 3 will undergo a title change, with the new title to be revealed shortly.
