Karan Aujla reacts
Karan discussed the matter in a recent conversation, stating, "I firmly believe in showing respect to my fans, as they are the reason for my success. While I was performing on stage and giving my utmost effort, an unexpected incident occurred. As artists, we invest our heart and soul into each performance, aiming to create lasting memories."
He further remarked, "The trend of throwing unusual items onto the stage is not part of our culture and does not reflect a genuine expression of appreciation. My only request is for respect—not only for myself but for every artist who steps onto that stage."
About the incident
In September of the previous year, Karan interrupted his performance in London after an audience member threw a shoe at him. Numerous videos and images of the incident at the O2 arena circulated on social media platforms.
While he was engaged in singing and dancing, a shoe was seen flying from the crowd, striking the singer and landing nearby. After halting the performance, Karan addressed the audience, stating, "Hold on! Who was that? I am telling you to come up on the stage. Let’s settle this one-on-one right now. I know how to fight. Do not throw your shoes in shame. (Addressing an individual) Was it you? What is your intention? I do not wish for you to perceive anything incorrectly. Show some respect."
According to the Times of India, he further remarked, "I am not performing so poorly that you would resort to throwing shoes at me. If any of you have an issue with me, come directly to the stage and discuss it… because I am not saying anything inappropriate." Another video captured the individual who threw the shoe being escorted out of the venue by security personnel.
