Hrithik Roshan worked as an assistant director on his father Rakesh Roshan's film before he became an actor. Karan Arjun was one of the films for which Hrithik worked as an AD. As the 1995 film is set to be re-released in cinemas on November 22, Rakesh Roshan has been sharing interesting anecdotes from the set. In his recent interview with News18, the veteran filmmaker and producer recalled how his son Hrithik traveled to the set and stayed with the film crew.

Hrithik Roshan traveled by bus to Karan Arjun's set

Speaking with the publication, Rakesh Roshan revealed why Hrithik used to travel by bus to Karan Arjun's set while he took a car. "I used to travel to the sets of the film in my car and he took the bus. I didn’t take him with me. I wanted him to see that life. When we used to go for outdoor shooting as well, he used to stay with the unit people, not in the hotel that the actors were placed in," he recalled.

The senior filmmaker and producer further revealed Hrithik would stay in one room with four people and eat the same food as theirs. "Kabhi phet kharaab ho raha hai, kabhi kuch ho raha hai (He would fall sick). For four to five years I did that with him. This helps one to know what happens behind-the-camera. So that’s why, when you see Hrithik shooting as an actor, he will never be late on the set," shared Roshan.

Talking about Karan Arjun, the film starred Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in the lead roles. It also featured Rakhee Gulzar, the late Amrish Puri, Mamta Kulkarni, and Kajol in pivotal roles. The movie was theatrically released on January 13, 1995. It was reportedly made on a budget of Rs 6 crore and minted Rs 43 crore at the box office.
