Kanye West’s Latest Struggle: How Nitrous Oxide Addiction Fuels His Downfall

2 months ago | 5 Views

A netizen humorously remarked, “Kanye is finally reclaiming control from Ye,” following the controversial rapper's retraction of his previous Nazi statements. On X, he stated, “After further reflection, I’ve come to the realization that I’m not a Nazi.” Kanye West's post on Thursday (IST) sparked a fresh wave of memes, with users drawing parallels between his situation and Oscar Isaac’s character(s) dealing with dissociative identity disorder in Marvel’s miniseries Moon Knight.

On the same day as the 47-year-old rapper's apparent awakening, several concerned sources reported that Kanye had “relapsed” on nitrous oxide. Earlier this month, West purchased a local television advertisement during the Super Bowl to promote his fashion brand, Yeezy. The “Stronger” rapper claimed to have filmed it with an iPhone after spending the allocated funds for the ad on his “new teeth.”

In the advertisement, Ye appeared to be seated in a dentist's chair, seeming disoriented and struggling to articulate his brief message. This ad was released shortly after West made headlines for posting an antisemitic rant on X and declaring himself a Nazi while expressing admiration for Hitler.

Insiders are worried about Kanye West's nitrous oxide addiction

Insiders are expressing concern regarding Kanye West's nitrous oxide addiction. Sources close to the rapper attribute his social media outbursts and recent controversies to a resurgence of his use of laughing gas, an anesthetic. A friend noted changes in his life since returning from Japan ahead of the 67th Grammy Awards, stating, “When he [West] returned to LA, he underwent dental work again, and I believe that’s when he relapsed.”

Another source added, “The nitrous took over in Los Angeles. After the Grammy party [on Feb. 2], he encountered people, and it escalated to behaviors he typically avoids when he’s in Japan.” A third source indicated that Kanye relied on nitrous oxide as a form of “medication,” which ultimately contributed to his meltdowns and enabled him to “do anything he wants.”

It appears that thoughts spontaneously arise within him, prompting him to express his opinions candidly. This phenomenon resembles a cultural form of Tourettes, with his entire existence likened to a video game, as noted by the same source, who referenced his relationship with his dentist.

A former employee of Ye also claimed that the rapper is “highly impressionable,” suggesting that one can easily persuade him of various notions without him thoroughly verifying their accuracy. The ex-Yeezy staff member elaborated, stating, “You can assert something false, but if you present it with sufficient conviction at the appropriate moment, he will accept it as truth.”

Kanye West's manager previously accused his dentist of pushing him into addiction

These allegations are consistent with claims made by Kanye West’s long-time representative, Milo Yiannopoulos, who accused dentist Thomas Connelly of being a significant factor in the artist's nitrous oxide dependency. “Connelly introduced Ye to nitrous – laughing gas. I believe that Connelly aimed to impair Ye’s mental capabilities to enable himself and his business partners to profit significantly from him,” the manager asserted in an X thread in August 2024.

Controversial rapper shares the story on his social media

In an unexpected move, Ye re-shared a tweet from the Hip-Hop/music updates account Kurrco, which referenced his purported relapse into nitrous oxide use, shortly after he expressed a “realization” that he is not a Nazi. He neither confirmed nor denied the allegations while sharing the post.

During his recent activity on X, Ye also took a jab at Adam Sandler for mentioning him during the SNL50 celebrations. “Adam Sandler, thank you for the love,” he commented after the actor made a pointed remark about West during the special anniversary event of the comedy sketch show: “50 years of discovering your favorite musician’s antisemitic tendencies.”

Kanye’s decision to re-share his “relapse” narrative on his personal account has only raised further questions, leaving his fans uncertain about his well-being, particularly as sources have indicated that his addiction to laughing gas has significantly affected his memory.
