On Monday, Kanye West dropped a teaser for his new track 'Cousins.' Shortly after, he took to X to make some shocking claims about an inappropriate relationship with his male cousin from their childhood. He mentioned, 'This song is about my cousin who's serving a life sentence for killing a pregnant woman, just a few years after I told him we should stop looking at dirty magazines together.'

He reflected on his past, saying, 'Maybe I felt guilty for showing him those magazines when he was just 6, and then we ended up acting out what we saw.' Kanye also revealed that he discovered those adult magazines in his late mother Donda West's closet. He wrapped up his post with a bold statement, saying, 'My name is Ye and I did some things with my cousin until I was 14,' before signing off with 'Tweet sent.'

Although West didn't mention his cousin by name, both he and his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, have talked about this family member before. In August 2018, on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, West expressed his feelings, saying, 'My cousin is locked up for murder and I love him. He made a mistake, but I still care about him.' In her 2020 docuseries, 'Kim Kardashian West: The Justice Project,' the 44-year-old reality star opened up about West's cousin, who is serving a double life sentence for a murder he committed at 17.

She told Marc Howard, the president of the Frederick Douglass Project for Justice, that '[Kanye’s] cousin has a double life sentence for a murder that he committed when he was 17.' Kim also mentioned that West’s aunt has come to terms with her son's situation, saying, 'She’s like, ‘I’m not even that distraught anymore. Like, that’s just what happens to the kids in our neighborhood.’ There’s just no other choice.'
