Kanye West shared a big update about his net worth on Instagram this past Friday. He decided to showcase his billionaire status to his 20.5 million followers on a profile he often clears out. In line with his current monochrome aesthetic, Ye posted, "In 2025, Ye's net worth stands at $2.77 billion USD as confirmed by Eton Venture Services." He also mentioned that this impressive figure is "based on his music portfolio and his complete ownership of the Yeezy brand."

In a playful twist, West's caption simply said, "LAA LA LA LA," which seems to reference the opening lines of his song "Can't Tell Me Nothing," according to Radar Online. This news is a stark contrast to just two years ago when the rapper claimed he was "two months away" from potentially going bankrupt.

The end of the Adidas partnership nearly drove Ye to bankruptcy

Kanye West faced a major financial setback when Adidas decided to end their partnership with Yeezy. This move followed his controversial social media posts and allegations that he made anti-Semitic comments to his employees. The split with Adidas is estimated to have cost him around $2 billion.

In 2022, Adidas issued a statement denouncing Kanye's anti-Semitic remarks, stating, "Ye’s recent comments and actions have been unacceptable, hateful and dangerous, and they violate the company’s values of diversity and inclusion, mutual respect and fairness"

Revamping the brand and relocating to Italy

He was trying to rebuild his reputation and brand from scratch, saying he dropped $7 million on his Vultures album and a Super Bowl ad. He was pretty open about it, admitting, "Honestly, I was just two months away from bankruptcy, and I put everything I had into the album and the Super Bowl ad." Ye also mentioned that he and his wife, Bianca Censori, relocated to Italy to make ends meet.

He explained, "We moved to Italy. We went to the factories, and we made it through. We survived the cancellation. Now we're back on top."

Kanye West's vacant properties and Yeezy headquarters are causing tax issues

Kanye West's recent social media claims don't quite match up with what The Sun US is reporting about his financial situation. Apparently, his debts are piling up, especially with property taxes since he’s walked away from his homes and the $6.7 million Yeezy headquarters in the U.S. The report suggests he owes at least $365,592 across six different properties, plus penalties for not paying.

On top of that, he’s facing an extra $3,272 in penalties every month. He’s also expected to cough up $82,662 by April 10 for some of his properties in Los Angeles. If he doesn’t, the Los Angeles County Treasurer and Tax Collector will hit him with more financial penalties.

Kanye's real estate portfolio includes that $6.7 million Yeezy HQ in West Hollywood, a $1.5 million church in Northridge, two homes in Calabasas from his divorce with Kim Kardashian, a townhouse in Westlake, and a $35 million mansion he bought in Beverly Hills last year. He’s left these properties behind, and the tax bills are reportedly still unpaid while he’s now living in Tokyo with Bianca.

Kanye West is still facing some serious legal issues

On top of his alleged money troubles, the rapper is facing a bunch of lawsuits that are adding to the drama. His former assistant, Lauren Pisciotta, has filed a lawsuit claiming he raped and sexually abused her.

Things aren't looking great for his Donda Academy either, as ex-teachers Cecilia Hailey and Chekarey Byers are suing him over "numerous health and safety violations and illegal educational practices." That case is set to go to trial in April.

There are also other lawsuits claiming he created a toxic work environment and caused emotional distress for his employees.
