Kanye West's surprise and controversial showing at the Grammy Awards left a lot of folks scratching their heads, igniting a flurry of rumors and speculation. There were reports flying around that he wasn't allowed to be there, with some saying security was told to kick him out. But as the confusion grew, West's team jumped in to set the record straight, saying he was actually free to stroll the red carpet and that the early reports were wrong. Now, the rapper is shedding light on what really happened on the red carpet.

West confesses to making a last-ditch effort to score Grammy tickets

After coming back to X, West shared how hard he tried to score tickets to the big music event. He said, “How can the Grammies nominate me and then not hook me up with tickets? And then folks get upset when I lose it! I had to hustle for five hours and reach out to everyone I knew just to get in. They finally gave me tickets, but only for the red carpet. By then, I hadn’t even started my meltdown.”

Nominees usually get a spot on the guest list right away. Artists who are part of the Recording Academy score two tickets, while those who aren't get one. Plus, there are extra tickets up for grabs, often at a discount, so nominees can still get into the big event, according to The Mirror US.

Kanye West's latest comments about Kendrick Lamar

West got a nod for Best Rap Song with his track Carnival from the album Vultures 1, but he ended up losing to Kendrick Lamar, who snagged the award for his diss track Not Like Us, which was aimed at Drake.

In a recent chat with Justin Laboy, the rapper confidently stated that he could take Lamar in a rap battle. He compared it to Street Fighter, saying, “You know how Chun-Li has that unbeatable kick? Well, rapping against Kendrick Lamar is tough, just like Joe Budden said, ‘Never rap against Kendrick Lamar.’ It’s a real challenge, but hey, I’m a psycho genius, so who knows?”
