Sanya Malhotra's film Mrs has been receiving significant praise from viewers since its debut on ZEE5. This movie is a Hindi adaptation of the Malayalam film The Great Indian Kitchen. In the film, Sanya portrays Richa, an aspiring dancer who finds herself married into a patriarchal household, where she is relegated to performing domestic duties. In a conversation with India Today, Kanwaljit Singh, who plays Richa's father-in-law, expressed his feelings after watching the film and revealed that he apologized to Sanya.

What Kanwaljit said

During the discussion, Kanwaljit remarked, “The only thing I recall is how much food I consumed; beyond that, not much else stood out. Since filming, I have worked on nearly four other projects, so the character had slipped my mind. Upon viewing the film, I felt such revulsion that I immediately approached Sanya to apologize.”

‘She has nailed the part’

He further stated, “She was surprised and inquired why I was apologizing. I explained that I had forgotten the extent to which I troubled her in the film, which made me feel remorseful. She has excelled in her role, and witnessing her endure those struggles left all of us deeply affected.”

Shortly after its release on ZEE5, Mrs set records by achieving the largest opening and becoming the most searched film on Google.

Directed by Arati Kadav, this drama has been praised by both critics and audiences for its compelling narrative, outstanding performances, and emotional resonance. The film, which also features Nishant Dahiya, has ignited extensive conversations among women, with many commending it as a candid and unflinching portrayal of the harsh realities they encounter in their daily lives.
