Kanguva, the highly anticipated Suriya starrer is gearing up for a grand theatrical release on November 14, 2024. The movie, directed by hitmaker Siva, marks the Tamil debut of popular Bollywood actress, Disha Patani. The makers recently revealed the leading lady’s first glimpse from the film with the Kanguva second single, Yolo, recently. In a recent interview, director Siva opened up about Disha Patani’s role in Kanguva and made some interesting revelations.

Disha Patani’s role in Kanguva

In a recent interview with Cinema Vikatan, director Siva, made some interesting revelations about Disha Patani’s role. According to the filmmaker, the popular actress has added a freshness to the world of Kanguva, with her presence. Siva revealed that Disha Patani’s character in the film, Angelina, is a shadow cop and bounty hunter. The actress is playing a very bubbly character in the film, but it is not like the usual tomboy role. Siva added that Disha has delivered an excellent performance in the film. 

From the Yolo song visuals, it is safe to assume that Disha Patani’s character in the film, Angelina, is the love interest of Suriya’s modern-day character, Francis Theodore aka Frankie, who is a shadow cop and professional bounty hunter. The Bollywood actress is reportedly appearing only in the present-day portions of the film and will have a lesser screen time in the first installment, which is set to release on November 14, 2024.

All about Kanguva

As reported earlier, Suriya is set to play a double role in the Siva directorial as Kanguva, a tribal leader who lived in a medieval age, and a modern-day shadow cop named Francis Theodore aka Frankie. Bobby Deol plays the role of lead antagonist, Udhiran, in the highly anticipated film. Yogi Babu essays the role of Colt, a gun lover in Kanguva, and Redin Kingsley plays the role of Accelerator, a bounty hunter. Devi Sri Prasad has composed songs and original score for the action spectacle, which is set to be released in eight languages across the globe.
