Actor Kangana Ranaut has acknowledged that there was a period when her mother advised her that women should prioritize homemaking. In an interview with Brut India, she expressed that she once considered her mother's views to be rather foolish. 

What did Kangana say

Kangana remarked, “My mother often emphasized that as a woman, one should take a keen interest in homemaking, from preparing achar (pickle) and ghee (clarified butter) to cultivating vegetables. At the time, I dismissed her advice as trivial, questioning its significance.”

She continued, “I once believed I was among the youngest and wealthiest women in the nation. However, I now find myself echoing her sentiments... This reflects the evolution of women. I came across a quote stating, ‘you are not born as a woman, but you grow to be a woman’... Today, my mother expresses her happiness, believing that I have matured and gained wisdom.”

Kangana’s last project

Kangana was last seen in the film Emergency, where she portrayed the late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The film premiered in theaters on January 17. Emergency explored the period during which Indira Gandhi declared a state of Emergency lasting 21 months from 1975 to 1977, along with its subsequent effects. The cast also included Anupam Kher, Shreyas Talpade, Vishak Nair, Milind Soman, and the late Satish Kaushik.

In a new development, Kangana has launched a restaurant named The Mountain Story in Manali. She had previously expressed her desire to open a café in an earlier interview. In a roundtable discussion from 2013, which included actress Deepika Padukone, Kangana mentioned her aspiration to establish a restaurant within the next decade.
