The Kapoor family recently had the opportunity to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to extend an invitation to the Raj Kapoor Film Festival, which is being held to commemorate the centenary of the renowned actor and filmmaker's birth. In a discussion with Agenda Aaj Tak, Kangana Ranaut expressed her thoughts on this meeting, emphasizing that the Prime Minister's involvement with the film industry represents a significant advancement.

Kangana Ranaut reacts to the Kapoor Family meeting PM Modi

In response to inquiries regarding her views on Prime Minister Modi's meeting with the Kapoor family, while she awaits an audience with him, Kangana Ranaut expressed, “I believe our film industry is in dire need of substantial guidance. It serves as a form of soft power that remains significantly underutilized. Whether it is PM Modi or other authorities such as the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, I have been part of this industry for two decades. The industry appears to be directionless, lacking the necessary guidance. This absence of direction allows various agendas, such as the Jihadi or Palestinian agendas, to easily influence them, as they are uncertain about their path forward.”

Kangana Ranaut says people in the film industry are vulnerable

She further emphasized that individuals within the film industry are particularly susceptible to exploitation, stating that financial incentives can lead them to engage in various activities. She noted that figures like Dawood invite them to exclusive gatherings, where they often fall prey to illicit financial schemes and substance abuse. This vulnerability is significant, and she believes that the initiative to engage with them is intended to convey that Prime Minister Modi acknowledges their contributions and considers their circumstances. Such interactions are rare in their environment, leading them to believe they can act without oversight, even participating in events hosted by gangsters in Dubai. She views this outreach as a positive development.

In conclusion, she remarked that it is essential for them to integrate into mainstream industries. Although they are part of a substantial sector, they do not receive the same level of respect as other industries. They produce numerous films and generate considerable revenue. Regarding her desire for a meeting with the Prime Minister, she expressed that she has made a request and is hopeful for a favourable response soon.

In the meantime, Kangana Ranaut is set to appear in her self-directed film, Emergency, where she will portray former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. The cast also includes Shreyas Talpade, Anupam Kher, and Mahima Chaudhary in significant roles, with the film scheduled for theatrical release in 2025.
