Kangana Ranaut Hosts First Screening of "Emergency" for Nitin Gadkari: "Film is Ready After Six Months of Struggle"

Actor Kangana Ranaut hosted a special screening of her new film Emergency in Nagpur. The event took place on Saturday and saw the presence of Union Minister Nitin Gadkari along with Kangana's co-star Anupam Kher.

Kangana has just hosted the first screening of Emergency

News agency PTI took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a video featuring Kangana discussing her film. She mentioned, "Today marks the first screening of the film. No one has seen it before this. The censor board was really tough on us, going through everything with a fine-tooth comb. We had to submit tons of proof and paperwork. After six months of hard work, the film is finally good to go."

Nitin Gadkari shared his thoughts on movies

Nitin Gadkari mentioned that he’s seeing the film for the first time and reflected on his experiences during the Emergency in the country. He believes that Kangana ji has accurately portrayed the true history of that time for the audience. He’s really confident that the public will back this film.

Kangana and Nitin Gadkari posted something together

Kangana recently hopped on Instagram to post some snaps from the screening. One of the pics shows her chatting with Nitin Gadkari and Anupam. She captioned it, "#emergency with @gadkari.nitin ji Hitting theaters on January 17th.".

The minister hopped on X to give a shoutout to the Emergency team for “showing our nation’s dark history with such authenticity and excellence.” He attended a special screening of the movie Emergency, starring @KanganaTeam Ji and Shri @AnupamPKher Ji, in Nagpur today. He expressed his gratitude to the filmmakers and actors for their incredible work in bringing this important chapter of India’s history to life. He encouraged everyone to check out the film, highlighting its significance.

Regarding Emergency

The movie is set to hit theaters on January 17. It features Shreyas Talpade and the late Satish Kaushik. Directed by Kangana, the film explores the emergency period declared by former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, lasting from 1975 to 1977, and its consequences. Kangana will portray Indira Gandhi in the film.

Audiences can look forward to Anupam playing the late politician Jayaprakash Narayan, Shreyas Talpade as a young Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Milind Soman as Field Marshal Sam Manekshaw, Mahima Choudhary as Pupul Jayakar, and the late Satish Kaushik as Jagjivan Ram.
