Kangana posted a similar picture last week, giving fans a candid glimpse of what goes on behind the scenes. She posted a picture at the end of a session with other ministers, writing, “Parliament adjourned till 2PM, everyone is waiting for it to start again.” The 2024 Lok Sabha Polls marked Kangana's first election as a politician. She defeated her rival, Congress' Vikramaditya Singh, to win the seat in Mandi, Himachal Pradesh.

Recent work

Following the release of the 2023 films Chandramukhi 2 and Tejas, Kangana Ranaut took on the roles of director, producer, and lead actress in the biopic Emergency, which focuses on Indira Gandhi. The film is set during the Emergency period enforced by the Congress government from 1975 to 1977. After facing significant delays due to censorship challenges, it was released this year but garnered mixed reviews and underperformed at the box office. It is currently available for streaming on Netflix.

In a related note, Kangana shared with PTI that she had encouraged Indira Gandhi's granddaughter, Priyanka, to view her portrayal of the former Prime Minister. She recounted, “I encountered Priyanka Gandhi in Parliament, where she praised my work and my hairstyle. I mentioned that I had created the film Emergency and suggested she might want to watch it. She responded, ‘Okay, maybe.’”
