Thalavan, the crime thriller movie that stars Asif Ali and Biju Menon in the lead roles, emerged as a critical and commercial success. Director Jis Joy, who is best known for the feel-good entertainers he helmed, took a break from the genre for his latest outing, which hit the big screens without much hype. The movie, which has been receiving immense love from audiences and critics, has also impressed the legendary actor, Kamal Haasan. The Vikram actor recently met the Thalaivar team in Chennai, and the pictures are winning the internet.

As per the reports, the veteran actor-filmmaker recently watched Thalavan on a special screen in Chennai. Kamal Haasan, who loved the film, met the cast and crew members, including leading man Asif Ali, director Jis Joy, and others, at the Raaj Kamal Films International office, in Chennai recently. The pictures of the legend, with the popular Malayalam actor and the Thalavan team are now going viral on social media handles. Biju Menon, however, gave the special occasion a miss owing to busy schedule. 

Thalavan on OTT

As reportedly earlier, the post-theatrical streaming rights of Thalavan, which marked Jis Joy’s sixth outing as a filmmaker, have been bagged by the leading OTT platform Sony LIV. Asif Ali and Biju Menon’s acclaimed film is expected to stream on the popular platform immediately after it completes the theatrical run. If the reports are to be believed, Thalavan will be available for streaming in four languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Kannada, on Sony LIV, mostly from July 2024.

Biju Menon played Jayshankar, a Circle Inspector of Police who gets promoted as DYSP, in Thalavan, Asif Ali, on the other hand, played Karthik Vasudevan, a Sub Inspector, who soon gets promoted as a CI. Thalvan features Miya George, Anusree, Sujith Shankar, Dileesh Pothan, Ranjith, Kottayam Nazeer, Jaffar Idukki, Tessa Joseph, and others in the supporting roles. Deepak Dev composed the songs and original score for the movie, which is bankrolled by Arun Narayan Productions and London Studios.
