It has already been reported that Goutam Ghose will be the 30th Kolkata International Film Festival. CM Mamata Banerjee finally announced his name as the chairperson recently. Prosenjit Chatterjee became the co-chairperson. Earlier, Raj Chakraborty served as the chairman for several years.

On Wednesday, the day Uttam Kumar breathed his last, the Mahanayak Samman Award festival took place. Mamata Banerjee went there. She said there that the KIFF would start on December 4 and end on December 11. Then she announced the name of the chairperson and vice-chairperson.

A few days back, Raj Chakraborty announced that he was stepping down from the chairman’s post. He reportedly wanted to step down last year. Raj told the media that he carried out the responsibility for several years and now wanted a break.

Goutam Ghose and Prosenjit’s names were speculated as the new office bearers. Prosenjit’s manager was asked about the matter and they said that the superstar loved KIFF and stayed by Raj’s side. If there is the scope of going to the festival for seven days, Prosenjit would opt for that. Hence, Prosenjit will always be with the festival, no matter who holds the chair. Now the relationship strengthened. It was reported that Raj Chakraborty will be on the committee of the KIFF as a member.
