Telugu star Sai Pallavi is poised to portray Sita opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. However, in a recent conversation with Siddharth Kannan, actress Srinidhi Shetty, known for her work in KGF, revealed that she had auditioned for the role before ultimately losing it to Sai.

Srinidhi on giving a screen test for Ramayana

When questioned about the speculation regarding her being a contender for the role of Sita in Ramayana, Srinidhi acknowledged that she had auditioned and stated, "Now, as the filming is already in progress, I suppose I can disclose it. Yes, I did meet and participate in a screen test. I vividly recall preparing three scenes, and they received an excellent response; they were impressed. I had heard that Yash was involved in Ramayana, and at that moment, KGF 2 had just premiered, and the duo was a sensation—people were really enjoying it. In just a month or so, this event occurred (the Ramayana audition). So I was thinking, he will portray Raavan, I will be Sita; we will be set against each other. Hence, some might not have been able to accept us in opposing roles. So, in some way, I pondered it might happen, or it might not. "

Srinidhi on losing the role to Sai Pallavi

Discussing her loss of the role to Sai Pallavi, Srinidhi remarked, "But I believe Sai Pallavi is an excellent selection. I would be thrilled to see her as Sita in the film, and as I always mention—when something succeeds, it's fantastic; when something fails, it's still beautiful because new opportunities will arise for you. "

Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana is among the most eagerly awaited upcoming films. The cast includes Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana. It will also feature Ravi Dubey and Sunny Deol in significant roles. The film is currently in production and is slated for release in two parts—one in 2026 and the other in 2027.
