Amitabh Bachchan on Intercaste and equality
KBC 16 host Amitabh Bachchan recently spoke about the intercaste marriage of his parents, Harivansh Rai Bachchan and Teji Bachchan. During a conversation with one of the female contestants, Kirti, the veteran actor shared his insights about inter-caste relationships. He also revealed that his father hailed from Uttar Pradesh, but his mother was a Sikh, so this makes him ‘Aadha Sardar’ or half Sikh due to his family roots.
He said, “Inter caste bolna bahut ajeeb lagta hai, Pita ji hamare Uttar Pradesh se the aur Mata ji Sikh Parivar se, toh aadha Sardar mein apne aap ko maanta hu.”
